I was a pin setter for awhile. Had a regular who would try and hit you with the pin by a really fast ball so you got out of the pit and warned your fellow setters every time he bowled.
Wow, pin setters! I’ve never seen them in real life – we had automatic pin setters even way back when I was a kid ;-)
But when I took bowling in college (yes, a real class – I took it to fill out my “full load” requirement for my scholarship), the lanes were automatic, but the ball return was open, so you’d see the ball rolling back to the pit… :-)
In the late 40’s my Dad was a pinsetter for a short time. He said he really enjoyed seeing a dating couple bowl. The guy would blast the ball in and only get a few pins. Usually the young lady would barely get the ball down the lane and would get 7 or 8 pins. Paid 10 cents a line for his work.

I used to be pretty good at bowling. I haven’t done it in years. The last bowling alley I played at burned down a year or so afterward.

I think that might be cheating.

They need to talk to the guy who waxes the lanes.

Mutt needs to put a bit of reverse English on that ball.
