my son in law was putting together an exercise bike for my daughter once and I happened to look and he was just grabbing parts and putting them together. I told him to look at the instruction because it is numbered 1 through what ever for a reason. I think it finally took THEM two days to put it together. Love him but instructions and putting things together is just not his thing.
Either a hutch and shelf for above the desk (but the desk doesn’t look deep enough for that). Perhaps a side table, attaching at an angle from the desk?
In my job working on microcomputers, I had to take a dot-matrix printer apart to get some address labels out of it. After I put it back together, there was one oddly-shaped piece left over. I had no idea where it went, so I just gingerly turned it on and printed something out. Worked perfectly… ☺

She’s an educated and patient woman. Which doesn’t explain her choice of husband or the “leftover” pieces.

If one of them is the “modesty panel” they shouldn’t worry about it.

Reminds me of the time my dearest husband rebuilt a carburetor on the kitchen table—-sigh—-and had some screws left over.

Its the back part of the desk. I have one that looks almost like Ben’s.
