It’s apparently true that walking through a doorway gives your brain permission to drop things from short term memory. Maybe changing viewpoints works the same way? (In which case, it might work to stand up again…)
Earl and this is why when you start looking for it (keep repeating what you are looking for, so it doesn’t go out of your mind). Repeating it over and over helps.
As I got older, the floors seem to be a whole lot lower than when I was younger! Getting up off the floor would be so much easier if the floor was not so darn low….
It’s not a pretty sight when I have to get on the floor , which is as difficult and as not pretty as getting back up. Wouldn’t be so bad if “Arth R. Itis” would leave. sigh
on the floor again. I just can’t wait to get on the floor again. the life I love is getting older every day and I can’t wait to get on the floor again (sorry Willie)

I had that problem of walking into a room and not knowing why I went in there.
Solved it by taking 3 minutes of deep breathing exercises every 2 hours of the day!
Your mileage may vary!

Silly Billy. Everyone knows the quickest way to remember is to get up and leave the room.

The next is getting up off the floor, for me if I am on the floor I have a pillow under me, then use a couch to get up.

Ever notice how everything you find was in the last place you looked?

Last line should have been “I can’t remember, but I’m not getting up until I find it”.
