I read a scientific article on this at some point. It has to do with how much time you have experienced in your life. As you get older, smaller periods of time like seasons feel short relative to say, 65 yrs. But, that doesn’t explain why sitting in an exam room in a johnny for 40 min feels like 10 yrs…
I will give you an explanation for time seemingly going faster the old you get. When you were six, a year seem to take forever to get over. That is because it was 1/6 of your entire life, and less if you only count the time you can actually remember (most people do not remember their very early life (0-3 years old). When you were 10 it take only 1/10 of your entire life for a year to past by. When you are 20, it is now taking only 1/20th of your life time. When you get 60, it is now 1/60th of your life, or just a very small part. The older you get, the small part of your entire life each year becomes, which gives the illusion that it is passing so much more quickly.
