Split level ’60’s houses can be just as haunted as an old dilapidated Victorian house. The old house just has more spooky ambiance.

They are where people die in place now. Overgrown and gritty, but with far less style.

When I was a kid, there was a house one street over, that never had lights on or people going in or out. Just a simple one story brick house. Curiosity led a group of us to go up and get a peek inside. There was furniture inside all covered in sheets….a sure sign of a haunted house. This called for an experiment. We found a branch, about 4 ft. long and stuck it into the mail slot. SOMEONE or SOMETHING pulled it into the house! We decided to let sleeping ghosts lie.Never went back.

The city I live in was a playground for the rich, in the 1800’s, and into the 1900’s, and there are old mansions scattered all over. They were mostly given, or sold to the colleges as fraternity, and sorority houses, but some have exactly the kind of character to make someone cross the street, rather than walk in front of it!
