My husband loves Christmas movies. All Freaking Year Long. There really is no Christmas “season” anymore in our house. Luckily he has wireless headphones to listen to tv.
SOMA FM has three distinct Xmas stations, 1950s – 1960s department store music, Xmas Lounge, and Xmas Rock. From 1 November to 16 March for the last two or three years. Good times.
Both of those songs were written by Johnny Marks, who also wrote Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer (based on a children’s book written by his brother-in-law) and all the other songs in that 1964 special. In fact, There are two scenes where you can hear an instrumental version of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. Interestingly, he was Jewish and didn’t celebrate Christmas.

The song I hate is Last Christmas, stupid song and it has nothing to do with Christmas except it says Christmas in it!!

I get tired of them. Except Little Drummer Boy.

Doesn’t the Hallmark station start their Xmas movies in July?

Getting into December, I cope by imagining carols sung by Bob Dylan in his nasal warble.
