Our rector speaks the way Loris does. Drives the congregation nuts, as we can’t follow some of the prayers. We’re still on “Give us this day” and he’s sailing through “for ever and ever”. And when you ask him to please slow down, he tells you he is going slow. He does speak slowly during his sermons, and they are always excellent, so it works out.
Sometimes having a crap memory like mine is a great thing, as it means I get to experience the joy of Petey’s ceremonial stapling tomorrow as if for the first time! Will it be a thousand pages of staring at a spot on the wall? Tune in tomorrow, same cul de sac channel, same spot on the wall!
Loris SLOTHROP ? I wonder if she is related to Lt. Slothrop from Pynchon’s Gravity’s Rainbow. She could be….it isn’t that common a family name. I’ll ask Thomas next time we get together.

Be a shame if the stapler ran out and Petey had to go home unfulfilled.

Oooh! Tomorrow’s the big moment for Petey! The stapling of his comic!

—This confirms my suspicion that Loris has broken the Sound Barrier and travels faster by far than Sound does. What is she, Mach 2.5, Mach 3?

Her name might come out as “Loslop”. And it’s funny that “Sloth” is in her name… ☺

Mrs. Baker says I talk too much, but I don’t really think she’s listening.

Why does something tell me that by the time Petey gets his comic “stapled,” either the stapler will run out of staples or it will jam up?
