Sounds like my husband’s response. I’m the tougher, meaner person in this relationship. I also become a BERZERKER when riled. >:-D

Why would a burglar hang around in the kitchen? They’d head for the sterling in the dining room. It’s Max; go back to sleep.

Mind you, the men who broke into our house back in the 80s did fix themselves a sandwich, after they took the silver and the computer. They left all of the cables; Hubby was angry enough to put the cables in a bag and sit them out with a note, reading “You forgot this”.

And wear your running shoes! JIC …

It makes absolutely no sense to go “see what that noise was”. What on earth could be precious enough to risk your life for it. Let them take what they want, fix a sandwich, or turkey dinner if they want to. Stay in bed, or if you think it’s really serious, call the cops and get on the other side of the bed from the door. That works better for me anyway, since that’s where the drawer with the gun is.

If it was an intruder, Max probably would have told you.
