I thought it was only my mother but I found several other ladies with the same attitude when their children gave them a cell phone. When asked about her phone she said that it wasn’t turned on. I asked why and she replied that she didn’t need to make a call right then. I said what if someone wants to call you and she said that if they wanted to call her they should use the “landline”.

The landline is useful because sometimes using it to call the cell is the only way to find it.
