So heās dishonest as well as surly and generally unpleasant. Not really a surprise.
Does he want to be reminded so that he knows not to try again with this particular customer or so that he can try again? Or does he just want to brood on his failure?
I had a kid in a burger joint shortchange me by 2 bucks once. I noticed before I got to the door, and went straight back to the counter. He was standing by his friends and kept ignoring me, but it was obvious he knew I was there. Finally I yelled, āHEY, THIEF! GET OVER HERE AND GIVE ME THE REST OF MY CHANGE!ā I know I could be heard anywhere in the building. He apologised for the āmistakeā, but I didnāt have to tell him how much I was short.
