This strip really irritates me. It’s about a slovenly, over indulgent man who ruins his health with donuts and ultra strong coffee and must be taken care of by his children as a result.
Strengthen your core, Adam. It’s connected to almost every movement. I’ve always been obese, and by my late 20s I started to have chronic back pain. Over time my exercise routine has evolved to ALWAYS engage my full abdomen in some way. Now I’m 43, still quite a bit larger than Adam, and yet my back hasn’t uttered a peep in years. The same principle applies to other body parts, especially joints that start to creak and complain in successive decades. Strengthen the surrounding muscles and you don’t have to depend on just your aging cartilage.

You’re a self-destructive, self-pitying, whiny hypochondriac. And these are your redeeming qualities.

There are at least 5 words in that statement that would cause at least a snicker.. in the very best poker face.
