I’ve given this strip a good solid try after the change in cartoonists, but I’m out of here. Problem is, I just don’t like the new Heart any more. And I’m not keen on the new Dean either. The friendly clueless kids they used to be are no more. RIP, Heart and Dean.
I think the art by the new cartoonist is really cute and she has nice little conflict filled plotlines. But Heart’s character is different. She’s got a different personality
For people who keep announcing that they are leaving this strip: so go already… You are like the guests who say they have to go and stand at the door yakking for the next two hours while their kids are running back and forth telling you that they are tired and want you to leave too,; and I meanwhile think to myself that we still have to clean up the kitchen, and do our evening routine with the kids, before we go to bed…
I agree with rebeccaofficer. Since Steenz took over, the charm, is utterly gone, the characters are practically unrecognizable, and Spock is a black cat, not gray. Other comic strips have been taken over by new artists who continued the style and original personalities of the characters. Dick Tracy, Shoe, Barney & Snuffy are three examples off the top of my head. Even with the change with Nancy, the characters stayed pretty much the same. The strip isn’t even funny any more. So sad to to see one of my favorite quirky comics reduced to a teen soap opera. So long, Heart, Dean and Spock, three bright lights that have been extinguished.

I have a feeling that her price is going to be too high to pay.

I’m with Heart, Dean has dug himself into a deeper hole than heart has.

Click the left double arrow, go back to the early days of the original strip, and enjoy all over again!
