What about the “cliffhanger?” Why are they “sweating” the chickens. Meg is doing well selling fresh eggs from free range chickens and the chickens give their operation a “Key West Flavor.”
The funniest customers were the ones we called “Customers from Hell!” They come in Sunday after Church where they have been on good behavior. The Pastor may have gone overtime, or traffic was bad, or they are just hungry. So many would come in to the Pizza (guess) Restaurant. Wanting to be fed and served immediately. If it was buffet, the line up was not to their liking….so for a cheaper price they want the cook to put a special pizza on the buffet. Also, they could order the special pizza and not worry about sharing. But you have the good customers that are like family, they have come in since dating, married, had children, and still come back as the years go on. Those customers make up for the semi bad ones that complain, do not tip, and act like they own the place.
Serving gazpacho and being blamed for it being cold? Serve some frozen cucumber-chili-soup, garlicky and generously chilied and chilled. (Trick is to use the cucumbers deepfrozen. Warn the guests to not get it unfrozen if they want to keep the chili restrained.) Drink a sweet icetea.
I used to “talk to the air” on messages left on the answering machine by selected idiots, and workers in the shop who heard both message and ‘air’ reply got a laugh out of it.
