My Covid cat refuses to drink from the water bowl. He either drinks water condensing on the air conditioner (changing the settings as he does), or drinks from the kitchen sink. I’ve taken to leaving a pitcher filled with water there for him. I’m contemplating getting him a fountain, but they are expensive. The last time I shelled out for one was for Tweedle (the bestest cat in the entire universe). He never drank out of it, so I ended up throwing it away.
Romeo has a fountain and I encourage him to drink from the faucet. Whenever he sees me go into the bathroom, he races in and flies into the sink for drinkies. It’s so cute and one of the ways I ensure he gets enough water.
Over the years we’ve had several furbabies that insisted on drinking from the faucet. Pye, our Chocolate Siamese, would show up whenever I turned on the bathroom tap to shave, get his drink, then steal the rolled-up socks out of my Army boots.

Drippy faucets are for the cat — at least in my house.

Correct, Mittens; semantics are different from other antics. It’s another toy for you: Whack the dripper!

How do you turn the kitchen off?

My cats save their fascination for the little solar-powered fountain outside the back door. Most cats prefer running water when they can get it.

Luckily, all three of mine have had a “Fancy” cat fountain from Day 1 so they don’t demand the “Super Fancy” one in the sink!
