Maybe they’re walking fast on purpose.

If you can’t keeps up you doesn’t belong in the pack, runt!

Curse those stubby legs.

Tell that to my dachshund-chihuahua mix. He’s faster than a lot of larger dogs that I’ve seen.

I was often stampeded in phys-ed.

Embarking on a slow journey.

Wait until the rest of the pack realizes he’s the only dog who can follow the rabbit into the hole.

If they’re counting steps, he’s going to reach the goal before anyone else.

As a dancer in my youth I always had a long stride (not so long anymore). My short friends would ask me to slow down. One went so far as to hold onto my coat tail so I would get the message. But with long legs it was hard to shorten my stride.

I see the dog walkers go by my window, often with one large and one small dog. It’s funny watching those little legs going a mile a minute to keep up while the large ones are just strolling. Saw the same sort of thing when a dad and son went by on bikes – Dad’s was regular sized and he was pedalling slowly, Son’s was kiddy sized and his little legs were just a blur of motion to go the same speed.

It is great though to get picked up and carried.

My son has a three-legged Jack Russel chihuahua mix (a rescue) and that doggie is really fast!!

OH come on, guys. Wait for the wee one…
