Once upon a time, in a particularly wackazoid episode of Howdy Doody, there was an alien race portrayed entirely by… balloons.
No arms or legs or faces, just helium balloons on strings.
The story was that they were from a previously unknown planet that was closer to Earth than any of the known planets. It was unknown because it was hidden behind the Moon !
Yes, of course the physics of such a location are impossible.
But it made for script references to “Balloona, the Planet Behind Luna.”
It made me laugh my little-kid brain right off my head.
a fantasy fun situation: see a kid with a balloon next to one of those penny scales. weigh the kid with and without the ballon, then calculate how many balloons it would take to lift the kid off the ground, say 428.

Ah, memories of The Red Ballon. Sweet classic award winning French movie, no dialogue, from the 40s(?). Highly recommended!
