Of course, she’s trusting that the chair and stool are both sturdy enough not to wobble…

Could this have inspired John Fogerty to write “Bootleg” for CCR? (“Suzy maybe give you some cherry pie / But Lord, that ain’t no fun / Better you grab it when she ain’t looking / Because you know you’d rather have it on the run.”)

Reminds me of the Compulsive Need To Defraud. A friend ordered some stuff online once, and though it would have been just as easy to send him what he thought he was getting, they managed to leave out half of each reprint they sent. I then realized that some people don’t feel self-respect unless they get something by chicanery.

And here’s Nancy. Cookies you don’t scheme for taste flat.

Has Aunt Fritzi ever done anything else nice for Nancy? Seems to me she’s always telling Nancy what NOT to do or disciplining her for doing it anyway.

I feel the same way – although we used the Boston Baked Beans jar to keep our Toll House cookies in long ago!!

I think Nancy is channeling Dennis, the Menace.

That is the fanciest cookie jar I’ve ever seen – did cookies really come in those back then? The jar would cost more than a case of cookies would today.
