Nancy: Oh, dear---I hope I wake up in time for that picnic tomorrow. Sign reads: Dear milkman please pull this string.
This is clever, but sadly I only have a mailman, so I can only get woken up this way between 4 and 6 in the evening.
These are awesome strips, thanks gocomics.com for keeping the classics like Nancy available for everyone to enjoy.
When does that picnic start—3 AM??
Necessity is the mother of invention…
“Sleep tight, baby – the milkman’s on his way”.
Lullaby of Broadway
The elated face on Nancy in the last panel, showing the satisfaction of a plan successfully accomplished
I grew up reading all the old strips and frankly, the old are sometimes pertaining to modern times…what goes around comes around…
Back in the 1960’s we had our Wanzer milk delivered to our house. The other brand of milk was Twin Oaks Dairy.
I guess that is cheaper than an alarm clock.

If it’s nice weather, she can wear sandals to the picnic.
Well at least he was accommodating. Lucky she didn’t have to get up during the night to use the bathroom.
Remember when I was about Nancy’s age getting milk and other dairy products from the milkman. “Farms, in Berkeley?”
