There are a lot of weird people out here. You’ve probably seen a few of them where you live. It’s just one of those things you have to put up with. Just tell them that if they don’t like what you do, then they can just do something themselves that is better. They run and hide. Or, you could always do what Alley Oop and Pibgorn do and not have comments. It’s not as much fun without the comments.

That would be my big fear too. Some comment section are totally evil and mean.

Amanda, that is the most awesome Zevon reference I have ever seen in another genre. Not to mention the most quotable (but somehow overlooked) line in the whole song.

I’ve pretty much decided to stop commenting on this site. When you get attacked for making a joke about being a slave to hummingbirds . . . sheesh! I’m just gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.

Anyone else think that Brooke McEldowney is a coward?

I have seen the comment sections on some comics here get pretty brutal

Some topics are guaranteed to spark debate, but some people will read in their own agenda on comics that have nothing to do with those topics just to manipulate the discussion their way

Trolls will be trolls, took me long enough to learn the only way to deal with them is to refuse to respond to them

Fortunately, your comics aren’t the type to bring out the wolves. If one should come around, though, do like Lennie Peterson on The Big Picture does ~~ invite them to unfollow you and tell them not to come back. He gets pretty funny about it.

Amanda, you deserve the support, and if you ever get a commenter who gets nasty, point them out to me. My dad taught me to expand my vocabulary and weaponize it, and my grandmother explained the offensive capabilities of good manners. I’m really getting rusty, though, and could use the practice!

I even read comics that are reruns mostly because I like most of the commenters there.
