Makes me think of a story I heard from a local nursing home. When the theme to 2001 came on, one of the nurses (or aids) turned up the volume to hear the first few notes, then came the crescendo. Some people who hadn’t heard much in a while did that day.
One of the oldest tech practical jokes. I remember doing that to my dad back in the 80’s. In that case it wasn’t a mute button rather I set it to the source to 8 track.
“Some times down to Asheville (Nashville?),some times Memphis town. The law they swore they’ed get him, but they never shut him down.
Paw, he made the whiskey.Son, he drove the load andwhen his engine thunderedthere was thunder, thunder, thunder on Thunder Road.thunder was his engine and white lightening was his load.
There was moonshine, moonshine, to quinch the devil’s thirst. The law swore they’ed get him,but the devil got’em first."
