Most people have inhibitions against dying, kind of ‘hard-wired’ for self preservation. The preventative measures we take during the pandemic mostly aim to protect others from harm, not ourselves.
A true test of your character might be how strong your inhibition against killing someone else is, compared to your ‘ardent desires’.
