We wish on the stars at night, when it gets dark. We can’t see the sun when it gets dark.

I guess that star said that 137 years ago.

Oh, we get some science lessons today. However if that specific star is really 137 light years away and the first commercial radio broadcast occurred in 1900, one hundred and twenty years ago, that star couldn’t have heard about Earthlings for yet another 17 years, the time when the first radio broadcast would reach it. And for the star to say that message back to us, it wouldn’t arrive on Earth for another 137 years. So this Ziggy cartoon is taking place in the year 2174.

Very very cloudy here tonight and the sky tonight too, so couldn’t see the moon or the stars.

But “Star light star bright, Fist star I see today, Wish I may wish I might, Have the wish I wish today” just doesn’t have the same ring. I know I can swap the may and might and to fix the second part, but that first part doesn’t work at all.

We will all be dead in 2174.

Yeah, I wish the sun to shine here in North Scotland!

When you wish upon a sun…

The most frequent wishing star is actually a planet (Venus).
