I work at a public high school. Masks are mandatory. It’s amazing how many of the ADULTS can’t tell when their mask isn’t covering their nose and/or mouth. Kids seem to prefer wearing the ones with a cutout over their nostrils so it looks like they are complying when they aren’t. Do I feel safe? No. Do I have a choice? Also no. So I wear two masks that have been sewn together and have a filter inside the inner mask, and a face shield, and gloves. Several times a week we get the notice that another student has been confirmed to have the virus. When we get to 20% out with the virus, they will close the schools.
Lucy would need surgery to drop her nose to an appropriate, maskable place on her face if she weren’t a cartoon character (or, more affordably, a special mask). I’ve yet to see a living person with such a disadvantage.
Politicizing a pandemic? It’s nothing new? Many blamed the Black Death on this or that political (more likely religious in those days) group. When our intrepid Columbus brought syphilis back to Europe (yes, diseases went both ways back then too) it was called the Spanish Pox, the Portuguese Plague, among other things. To quote Linda Ellerbee: “and so it goes.”
You are needed here just now Lio! Sitting in a doctor’s office with a guy who has it under his nose. He did move it… to under his chin when he began texting. Wish I were lying. Sigh

I’ve been known to tell people to cover their noses.

This is why she’s a psychiatrist and not an infectious disease doctor. And why she only charges 5 cents.

It seems so simple
How can people not understand how to wear it, when and where to wear it, and even when you don’t need it?

If Lucy wore the mask over her nose, she would not be able to see.
