I was a DJ at a country station back in the late 1970s, and there was a song by The Rolling Stones with a country sound (I can’t recall what it was now). My program director wanted to play it, but he knew we couldn’t play a record by The Rolling Stones, for heaven’s sake! So he renamed the band Stoney Roller, and no one ever guessed who they actually were listening to. True story.
