I think I finally figured out why mrs godfrey hates nate. Nate reminds mrs godfrey of an old high school boyfriend who had a personality similar to nate’s, and that guy broke mrs godfrey’s heart

Nate, in his own way, is at least trying to be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.
