I think that says more about the school than anything else.
I have no alma mater now. My college changed its name, then moved to a different city. I haven’t received any requests for money in a long time…
Just because they’re extinct, doesn’t mean a school couldn’t use them as a mascot. In fact, the dodo would be appropriate for many schools…

Poor guy.. his memory is shot, the “dodo” was his high school principal, their mascot was a Norwegian Rat.

i started high school in Providence RI…Classical High and when i started there the desks had graffiti from the Civil War…built 1843….so when someone mentions old school
