I got my new glasses today, yay! I can finally see without looking thru fog and scratches. Altho, its been so long since my last visit that this prescription is STRONG! I’m not used to actually seeing.

I’m also not used to knocking on the door and having a hand stick out with a thermal thermometer, or wearing latex gloves.

Annie looks sad. If I were her, I’d grab Oliver and leave.

In reply to Jay Rieder from yesterday, who asked, “are all Walmart’s doing this, or only yours’ due to inventory?”

I can’t speak for all Walmarts, but I think most around here have marked down some of the school supplies they have too much of. As for donating to schools, it might be just us right now. But I can’t be certain.

In reply to Eldo from yesterday who commented, “I’ve never seen a “Clearance” aisle in the local Megalomart, but then again i don’t browse—i’m on a mission for specific Items only.”

I’ve heard that not all Walmart stores do have a clearance aisle. In fact, I’ve heard that our district manager wants to phase ours out. But then, managers change and I don’t remember if it was our current district manager or our last one who said that. I do know that our clearance aisle is a big hit with our customers and I would hate to see it go. Not all departments have enough “flex” space (space that does not have a set “mod” and where department can stuff with anything they choose) to put their deleted and clearance items in their own departments. I think it would be a huge mistake to get rid of our clearance aisle.

By the way. our store has one luxury that the newer stores don’t have. We are an older store, built a little over 30 years ago. So we have our own associate bathrooms off our break room. Newer stores don’t have associate bathrooms. Not even in the Supercenters.

The constant beatdown of Annie by Chesney and Jack and the silence from the other cats makes me want Annie to leave with Oliver and get a puppy who will love her and be loyal to her. She does not deserve this.

Our poor unappreciated Annie will have the last say.

Maybe Annie needs to make her own comic. I can just imagine how she would draw Chesney!

Are they going to give her a top hat to go with that moustache? Poor Annie. What did she ever do to deserve such animosity? (Probably nothing.) On another note saw a dragonfly and twenty sparrows while out walking today. the sparrows were flying in a flock from tree to tree. I also heard a woodpecker.
