I wonder if the British have a Bookie’s guild? It seems to me as if the whole United Kingdom would bet on almost anything. I know that isn’t true. But it is the perception one gets.

Ah, I’m so sorry for your loss, Affie. Spookily enough, a relative of mine has just died today as well. He was my Dad’s cousin so he’d be my 1st cousin once removed. I had never met him, I have only met my Dad’s other cousins Pete and Julie but not Michael who was the one that died today.

My deepest condolences.

As for the flu jab, I am not eligible for one that’s free on the NHS. I can get one if I want but I’d have to pay £8 to get it at a pharmacy. I’ve decided not to, I’m perfectly healthy and have a very good chance of recovering from flu. Some people haven’t.

See you after the weekend, pal. Once again I’m very sorry for your loss.
