It is a bit weird when Janis invites the neighbors to sit on the lawn socially distanced and cheer or boo before the thumb makes it final. Sometimes the little green thing that has lost its identity but is still going strong on the porch captures hearts and minds.
My wife has some type of ugly stick plant with some thick fronds on top that cannot withstand cold. No idea what it is. Every spring we say that this will be the last year and as I plan to put it on a raft and send it to Valhalla. Every fall I am told to drag it back indoors because it “looks fine” and “we have had for so long”.
Learned long long ago to choose the next battle carefully.

Depending on the season, it is a part of a woman’s persona to tell husbands, “Move this here…no, no move it there…wait, put it by the window.”
