the only cereal with a frog mascot with which I’m familiar is Honey Smacks form Kellogg’s
Once again, a little over 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry regarding this strip:
http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2010/10/todays-cul-de-sac-from-yesterday.html
Part of the strip was previewed in an earlier blog entry:
http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2010/09/todays-cul-de-sac-september-21-2010.html
pointed to here 9/22.
But Petey, isn’t Little Neuro anxty enough for you?
There must be a rehab center somewhere for all those creatures frantically addicted to sugar sweetened cereal.
I was the grateful recepient of all those benefits outlined in panel three; except for possibly the sanity part.
Inspiration for a new comic or diorama, Petey! Feature, Freddy the Fretful Frog, overcomes nagging sugar deficiency!
Alice is right: Children’s literature usually is more compelling than the adult stuff.
I say again, Petey is a very good brother.
Do they still have Saturday morning cartoons based on kids’ cereals?
I love how Alice is shown with her mouth full of cereal. :)
I asked my wife what this comic was about and she said, “Nutn’, Honey”…
Sugar Smacks!
And, Petey: What is the big deal about parents and fiber, anyway?
Bill Murray has a poem about a frog that I would love to see Thompson illustrate. (“What wonderful bird the frog are…")
We would welcome the frog at Froglandia, Petey, provided he reformed his commercialized ways!
There is nothing stodgier or more boring than the messaging on an “adult” cereal box….
This one’s about a British admiral who uses his man o’ war to transport huge quantities of sugary cereal across the ocean.
