I want to say to my customers in the grocery store. “Thank you for that, nobody’s ever expressed an opinion. You’re the first.”

I wonder if that’s where they get all those poll results

Perhaps it’s just me. But I’ve always been a bit suspicious of any information imparted with the prologue "Well, they say . . . " Who’s “they” and how did “they” come to know? I know it’s a bit churlish of me, but it’s served me well for over three-quarters of a century.

And celebrities. Lots and lots of celebrities.

I have plenty of opinions, but I’ll keep them to myself if you’ll do the same.

I got one of those taxi-drivers once-. I just let him talk. He got me to where I needed to go in good time. Most are pretty quiet.

At least they’re using reliable sources.
