Bado not old enough yet to drive legally? (Also, we’ve also heard of backseat drivers, but not side-seat drivers.)

Legal driving age in many places has bounced around so much since I was slightly younger than Baldo, that I don’t even try to keep up with what is current. Don’t really have a need to either.

That is the problem you teach them all the rules – so then they know when you skip a few steps.

My son started “correcting” my driving skills as soon ad he got in Drivers Ed. I’ve been doing it wrong for 40 yrs, no tickets, or fault accidents.

The question should have been – would you like to WALK?

Baldo fell right into that one.

There was an incident on the Bridge of the ship I was on about 2:00AM one night.

The officer of the deck had just been Commissioned and was very nervous about standing his very first watch underway unsupervised. We were going along at about 4 knots and, of course, the ship was responding to the Wind as much as it was to the Rudder. Meaning it was wallowing. A Lot. This new officer kept telling the helmsman to “Mind Your Helm” every time the compass drifted off the correct heading. Which, with the wind, was constantly.

After about 2 hours of this, the Helmsman got a bit annoyed. Then, the messenger of the watch came back from an errand with a large wrench and the Helmsman took the wrench and began applying it to the nut that holds the ships wheel attached.

Newbie Officer sees this and demands to know just What the H***!! the helmsman is doing. Helmsman stands up, looks him in the eye and says: “_Well, Sir, you seem to want this wheel, So I’m going to Give It To You._”

Newbie officer didn’t say another word for the rest of the watch.
