I watched a squirrel going after some of my feeders, then he got distracted by all the berries on the bush/tree and ended up eating them instead. :D. (Wish I could remember the name of the plant, it’s got loads of really sharp spines too.)
My bird feeders are on a pole with a conical squirrel guard below the feeders. That’s 100% effective all summer, but one winter I caught a squirrel up on the feeders. I kept watch and saw that a snowbank had gotten high enough that the squirrel could jump from it to the pole above the guard. Raising the guard solved that problem but now I also make sure the snowbanks don’t get too high.
