    According to measuringworth.com (Hi Ralph!) that’s $317.00 in 2019 U.S. Dollar’s, going by the consumer price index and assuming that the date on the comic refers to 1970. Still not great for an adult’s bank account.

    But in this quasi-medieval kingdom, maybe it’s Id dollars in the year 1270. Might be a substantial amount.

    For those enamored of the notion of a fortune, as an early Christmas present, I will tell you a foolproof technique for making a small fortune on Wall Street. First, start with a large fortune. Not only is it foolproof, it REQUIRES a fool to work as intended the first time.
