This reminds me of a scifi poem I read many decades ago (as best as I remember):

I weep. The wind has wafted a cinder into my eye. It causes a tear to flow.

This is the spaceport. My father works here. He cleans out rocket tubes.

That’s odd. That’s the 8:30 taking off half an hour early.

I think I know where that cinder came from.

I think this was based on an Isaac Asimov short story, “Kaleidoscope.” Part of “The Illustrated Man” collection of short stories published in 1951. Some great writing!
