Looks like perhaps my prediction from several days ago may be coming true.

The older you get, the bolder you get as there is less and less time left to waste.
Corky must be in his 80’s and he is still working in the diner. If he is short of help why doesn’t his son Nubbin or daughter Eve help out? Maybe Corky should retire like Skezzix did and perhaps someone else take over like Amy or T Bone.
