Nothing is more pathetic and sickening than a parent telling his child that he disappeared from her life because he “needed some time for himself.” If you still need time for yourself, don’t father any children!

Not the best way to argue his case by implying that Heart was part of the problem.

Dude, you didn’t even know how old she is. Admitting that you left because you only cared about yourself isn’t helping.

“See, Heart, I was… Uh… Kidnapped by Gypsies… Yeah, that’s it, I was kidnapped by Gypsies and, uh, they, ah, sold me to chocolate ranchers in the Ivory Coast.”

Well, as least he was honest. If you paraphrase what he actually said it translates to, “I’ve been a jerk.”

His comment shows that a guy can father a child but it doesn’t make them a parent . Unfortunately we see this all too often .

Parenting is harder than it looks. But, not parenting shouldn’t be an option.
