I could only wish I had a job like that! At one job, the “boss” would be screaming my name if something went “sideways”…even on the days that I was off!!
Brutus is lucky he did not get locked in the office. I once worked very late and when I was ready to leave, saw that the gate to the building was locked. It was either climb over the 6-foot fence or call my boss to have the custodian let me out. (I called my boss.)
Our office at work is shared by about 6 other people, with no windows. If someone there did fall asleep while working, everyone else would just let him sleep, turn out the lights and leave.
I never had that problem as our operation was 24/7. We did have one worker who would sneak off and sleep in a closet. The rest of us finally got tired of doing his work also that we found him sleeping and dumped a pail of water on him. We kept doing that every time we discovered he was sleeping took about 1 week until he transferred to day shift
Worked with this guy in D. C. who would turn his back and act like he was working. He smoked a pipe and would sleep with pipe still puffing. That was when you could smoke in government buildings.
Back in high school this one guy fell asleep at his desk, the bell rang to leave, the teacher had us all leave quietly and the next group come in. I would have liked to see his reaction when he woke up.
Dozing off can happen to the best of us sometimes. His timing was just a little off after working so hard all day. However, it was sad that no one noticed…..

had students do that occasionally… other students always took it as an opportunity to practice their ninja quiet skills leaving the classroom

Not really, working is much worse than sleeping.

Word of advice Brutus, if you do something stupid don’t share it with Gladys. You only give her more ammunition for future insulting remarks.
