I always drive with the window open and the radio off. I know when there is a car in my blind spot because I can hear it – not the engine, the road noise. Getting rid of distractions makes driving a much more pleasant and relaxing experience.
The temperature was in the ‘teens this morning and I had to go out. I was reminded of today’s Betty comic when I noticed that many internal combustion cars were generating a lot of vapor clouds as they drove by as the hot exhaust condensed in the cold air. It looked similar to, but not exactly like, the cars depicted in this strip.

I’ve heard of complaints from pedestrians that didn’t hear them when crossing the street!
