Our first dog, a little Beni-type mutt,would tree a squirrel and sit for hours waiting for it to come back down. She never figured out that because of all the trees in our neighborhood, that squirrel was several houses down long before we called her to come in.
My other dogs (now passed) loved chasing squirrels and would sit by the sliding glass door and wait for one to come close. I’d open the door a crack and BOOM they were out the door and chasing them up the trees. My dog now lives in a whole park full of squirrels and could care less. My other dogs are up there shaking their heads….

Our squirrel knew how much our mini-chihuahua (RIP) could jump and turn around just out of reach and chitter at her.
