Special for Tad1: This morning as I was getting the paper on my front porch, I heard a loud chittering coming from a fir tree north of my house. I watched and listened, and suddenly two eagles emerged simultaneously, flying full speed. Now I never see two eagles in one spot, much less a fir tree. I looked online and the call is the female eagle’s mating call! So those two were hooking up in the cover of the fir!

I am just a mile from downtown but also close to Lake Washington and some parks that eagles like. Even though I don’t get the variety of wildlife I had at my cabin, there are some special events like this that are very rewarding.

Those restaurant fight expenses add up. Do you know much it costs to buy “breakaway” fruit? :)

@tad1 . . . . I put out a block of suet yesterday … flavor is Sizzle N’ Heat. One bird pecked at it and that’s all she wrote. Also put some sunflower seeds with nuts and small seed into the feeders. Only attracted a big fluffy gray squirrel so far. Cardinals used to feed on the sunflower seeds. Guess I’ll just give the squirrels those foods and go back to bread/rolls whenever. sigh

It was nearly 60 degrees today with lovely sunshine. I went out with Lady Bird and let her play in the sunshine, and pulled dead weeds and grass out of my perennial bed. Lady Bird is my brain damaged Brittany. I have to keep an eye on her when we’re outside to be sure she doesn’t walk into a tree or trip over the sidewalk. She is having great difficulty walking these days, and limited vision doesn’t help. However she still loves life; my vet and I are doing everything possible to keep her moving and comfortable. She has more pill cases than I do. Pills are slathered with peanut butter and placed on her dinner and breakfast (which I make for her…brown rice, chicken or venison, pumpkin, mixed veggies and extra green beans).

Man, that must have been one heck of a food fight! Sounds like something out of a Three Stooges film. XD On another note, saw four juncos, a wren, a varied thrush, six golden crowned kinglets, a towhee, and two rabbits while out walking today.

It’s after 3:00 in the morning and no new strip! I have to go to bed without my Ten Cats “fix”! I hope it’s here when I get up in the morning!
