The problem isn’t that Phoebe doesn’t react. It’s that Dakota has gotten to the point where sarcasm is now her second language instead of her first.

I hope that the help you are talking about is for Dakota to improve as a person, that would do her a lot of good!

It’s like she just wants to give Phoebe a kiss, but all she can muster is insults:-D.

On the contrary, I think sarcasm is the easiest form of come-back (aside from relatives of “so’s your old man”). It takes real work to get all the way to a response that makes the target feel grateful for the way you pointed out their shortcomings. Until the are playing it over in their head that night and finally realize what you said there…

Oh yes, it does work. For fun, try it on people trying to be passive-agressive with you. Nothing quite like the face someone makes when you answer their snippy “do what you want” with a happy “thanks! I will”
