I was in Alexandria, Virginia a few years ago and visited the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Among other things, they had Washington’s teeth on display. They were made of hippopotamus bone with real human teeth screwed in. Spring loaded, so he had to always keep his mouth clamped shut (or it would “spring” open). That’s why he always had such a stern look on his face in photos (and the U.S. dollar bill).
