Annie, I don’t think you’re going to successfully distance yourself from this crime if you insist on remaining in the house… You need a new association.
Actually, it is possible. When I was younger, our mail carrier would skip us by if our dog was loose in the yard. He even told us that there is a formal process for documenting a dog issue so that they have dispensation to skip the house if needed. That said, Annie and Sophie are inside, so that clearly couldn’t be it … unless the cats are displaying holographic versions of them on the lawn to keep the mail carrier away.
if this strip doesn’t imitate my two dogs in our house every day, don’t know what does. the smallest one insists on trying to drive away ANY delivery person by barking and running to the door to be let out, dancing frantically in circles the whole time until the delivery person is gone. The bigger one simply watches the smaller one get all “attack dog” and rarely if ever even looks out the window when all the racket starts.
I read somewhere that dogs always bark at the mail carrier because they come to the house every day but are never invited inside. Then they walk away so the dogs know that they did a good job protecting the house.
