Twig’s claws are like daggers. She was found in a bag with her siblings at about 4 weeks old. She’s kind of feral. I wouldn’t dare trying to clip her claws! She has a tall sisal scratching post she rips and tears on. I also have catnip spray I put on it. :)
They’re great to have if you’re diabetic. they save you lots of money on lancets. (Getting the bleeding stopped, however, is a different topic. Have a tourniquet handy)
I had to raise two kittens from birth and bottle feed them. They grew up in the office, where I had the AC turned off so they’d stay warmer. So I’d sit at the desk in bare feet and shorts. My legs, from the knees down, and feet looked like raw hamburger meat from the way they’d chase each other across my feet and up and down my legs. Once they got around 8 weeks old, they weren’t quite as bad (and I could start running the A/C some in there as well) but when they were still “toddlers” (3-6 weeks), they were LETHAL!!!

My GF won’t call them “claws”, just “sharp pointy things”.
(A disadvantage of rescuing adult cats and not kittens is losing the chance to train them from the beginning to accept claw-clipping.)

Our 2 girls are very old, but their claws are sharp and they’re both still pretty quick
They need to be, the 2 boys are younger and much larger

I still bear scars from Tiffany’s claws, though she’s been gone more than 30 years, and they bring back fond memories of that beautiful calico.
