Sorry Ripley, but I’m afraid you missed some research here. That alarm clock actually COULD be set to any hour of the day. The user simply had to move to a different time zone.
There’s a video of a “Star Wars” scene in which the super-tall actor who wore the Darth Vader outfit uses his own voice, before his lines were dubbed in by James Earl Jones. I don’t know why, but I thought it was funny to hear some other guy saying that stuff. His name was David Prowse.
But only when playing with King Louis’ chess set in ‘The History of the World, Part One’
King Louis: “Knight jumps Queen! Bishop jumps Queen! Pawns jump Queen! Come on jump the Queen!”
It’s good to be King!"
My Uncle breathed the same way from smoking 4 packs of Lucky Strikes every day. He was disappointed that they didn’t name a new blue pigment after his.
The alarm clock went off at 5 A.M. Central, perfect for the Midwest farmers.
That makes absolutely no sense. How does the alarm clock know it’s 4a.m. It has to be set to a specific time to start with to establish when 4 a.m. is. Altering the set time, alters when 4 a.m. is therefore making this claim bogus.
That’s not a picture of an alarm clock movement. It’s actually a tall case (“grandfather’s clock”) movement. There’s no alarm mechanism, the bell is there to strike the hours.

Getting up at 4am isn’t a problem, as long as to go to bed at 8pm.

Who in the late 18th century would wake up at 0400 every day? Farmers, yes, but who else?

It seems like to me you could just set the clock two hours behind and have it go off at 6:00am, or even more behind if you wanted to really sleep in.

If I was around in 1787, that alarm clock would have lasted less than one day.
How on Earth do you discover a new blue pigment? All you need to do is mix magenta and cyan in the right ratio.

I would have chucked that darn clock hard against the wall if it went off at four in the morning and got me up!

Meanwhile the Canadians invented an alarm clock that same year that never went off because that would be mean.
Take care, may Scarborough taxi driver Todd Ford be with you, and gesundheit.

Ylnmn Blue, think while they were inventing it, somebody would have designed a couple of vowels for it, too?
