Too true. I can drop something 6 feet away from the couch and it will end up not only underneath it, but as far away from the edge as it can possibly get.
Guys like me who build scale models have a name for the creature that lurks at floor level. It is called the “Carpet Monster”. As frustrating as it can be, looking for missing parts`gets us off our chairs for a bit. Sometimes the little gremlin will cough up its prey, sometimes not. If not, it makes us better modelers, because we have to scratch-build a replacement for the part that’s gone missing.

Learned this trick from detective shows…use a flashlight…even if you don’t turn it on pretend it is…you’ll find stuff!
