I had one years ago who loved to roll in sweaty workout clothes and freshly washed wool sweaters. I had to put drying sweaters in a separate room and close the door. So she’d try to get in by jumping up, grabbing the door knob with her paws, and hanging there.
I had one cat who went mad for the smell of Valerian tea.
There’s a lot of variability in cats; it’s the secret of their success as a species. There is only one animal which can survive in more environments than cats – human beings (and we take them with us wherever we can).
My son had a Maine Coon/Ragdoll mix that would let my granddaughter sleep on his belly. He was a very big cat, almost 25 pounds, and she was very petite; only weighing 5 pounds 9 ounces when she was born. She stayed very petite for about 7 years. Moses was fiercely protective of her. He would always smell her bootie and let us know when she needed a diaper change before she was potty-trained. Unfortunately, Moses passed 3 years ago and my granddaughter is now taller than I am. She’s 5 feet 3 inches tall.

Maybe Earl’s feet evoke some kitten memories, like Proust’s madeleines.
