I know that parrots LOVE spicy food. This is because they have very few taste buds and those aren’t sensitive to hot spices. The spice gives their food a little kick that they don’t normally get. :)
Actually birds are dinosaurs and evolved prior to chilies and peppers, so their do not have taste receptors for the heat (capsaicin), but squirrels do and most do not like the flavor.
