BIG NATE BECOMES A SUPERHERO: PART 6 (FORMERLY NEWFOUND ABILITILES)

Recently, Nate and Marty have recently found out that Mom’s house is now owned by an elderly couple. Along with that, they’ve also received shocking news: Nate’s mom is dead. He begins to panic.

Nate: Wait, she’s dead?! My mom is dead?!

Elderly Man: No doubt about it. We don’t know how she died though.

Elderly Lady: I’m so sorry about your loss, young boy.

As Nate is hearing this, speechless, a tear coming from his left eye starts to go down his face. He goes over to a hammock lying on the front porch and weeps.

Marty: Well, uh… it was nice knowing you two. We drove thousands of miles for my son to see his mom for the first time.

Elderly Lady: Aw, poor little boy.

Elderly Man: Have a safe trip back in that case. We’ll be thinking about you.

Marty: Thank you. Come on, Nate. Let’s go.

Marty brings Nate to the car, waves goodbye to the elderly couple, and drives away. Ten minutes or so, Marty stops at a cemetery. He and Nate look for Mom’s grave. After a while, they finally find her grave with her superhero name on it.

Marty: “Elite Lady, 1972 – 2020. Cause of death: Crushed by Flunky. As stated in her wishes, she does not want her civilian name released to the public.”

Nate: I can’t believe she’s dead… wait… Flunky?

???: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Big Nate and the Big Event – Part 6

We started reading first few pages of our strip to see, what should we add, or correct.

Narrator: Steve, Frank and Claire are the best friends since preschool. Like normal teens, they usually hang out and walk among their city. But at night, they meet on a hill near school and take some gems with them. With help of the gems and moonlight, Steve, Frank and Claire become superheroes – Strong Steve, Fast Frank and Clear – eyed Claire.

“Wait!”, Francis said. “How should we call their squad?”

“Maybe Super Squad?” I suggested.

“How about the Tricky Trio?” Teddy offered.

I was sure he would come up with a better name, but I was outvoted.

Narrator: They all were called… The Tricky Trio.

Steve, Frank and Claire, as teens, are at the Burger King. They’re chatting and joking.

Frank: …and my mom said: “Don’t you agree?”. Dad asked: “Huh?”

Steve: Ha ha! Good one!

Claire’s phone is suddenly ringing.
